I am Sim, a UX and Product Designer with over a decade of experience turning complex problems into seamless digital experiences. From fintech to AI trust and compliance, I have designed for industries that keep the world turning. I have led and established UX and UI processes for companies generating billions in revenue, built design systems from scratch, and crafted experiences that users genuinely enjoy.

For me, design is not just about making things look good. It is about making them feel intuitive, natural, and, dare I say, delightful. I thrive in ambiguity, love a challenge, and take full ownership of the design process, from research and information architecture to UI design and development oversight. As much as I am a designer, I am also a mentor and leader, passionate about fostering collaboration and pushing the boundaries of what is possible.

The user is always at the heart of my decisions. I take pride in conducting in-depth research, usability testing, and leveraging both data and creativity to drive impactful design solutions. My work goes beyond pixels. I believe in storytelling, in crafting experiences that resonate, and in solving the right problems rather than just making things pretty. Whether it is streamlining a complex fintech workflow, optimising AI powered insights, or building a design system that scales, I ensure that everything I touch aligns with both business goals and user needs.

I have always been fascinated by Japanese craftsmanship, particularly the katana. It is the ultimate blend of art and function, designed with precision, balance, and purpose, just like great UX. To deepen my understanding, I recently completed a blacksmithing course in Japan, where I learned firsthand the intricate process of forging blades. It was a humbling experience, teaching me patience, discipline, and the importance of iteration, lessons that also apply to design.

Beyond wielding digital and literal swords, I am also a competitive badminton player, having won county tournaments, though my doubles partner might argue I was carried. I enjoy 3D modeling (see my channel on YouTube ‘Sim Deol‘ for my VFX work), game design, and sketching out new app ideas in my downtime.
